Splunk® Secure Gateway

Administer Splunk Secure Gateway

Use a proxy server with Splunk Secure Gateway

If you're using a proxy, open port 443 outbound to http.us-east-1.spacebridge.splunkcx.com to enable Splunk Secure Gateway.

If you're using a proxy server, the server must be a forward HTTPS proxy and support HTTP CONNECT. The following proxies are tested and verified as compatible:

  • Squid Forward Proxy
  • Apache Forward Proxy
  • Nginx Forward Proxy

If you're using another forward proxy and running into issues, there might be a configuration issue. See Troubleshoot Splunk Secure Gateway Connection Issues for more information about troubleshooting proxy issues.

Set up a proxy

You can set up a proxy by following these steps.

  1. In the Splunk Secure Gateway app, click on the Administration tab, go to Deployment configuration, and then click on Advanced settings.
  2. Set the HTTP proxy and HTTPS proxy for your proxy server.
  3. Click Apply changes
